When the Cloud account uses the ‘Enhanced Scanning’ module the UI presented for ‘Add New PLU’ has extra fields.
You can enter a ‘Scancode’ or click ‘InHouse Code’. If ‘InHouse Code’ is clicked the words ‘Using InHouse Code’ appear in the ‘Scancode’ field. The actual code is not important at this point and this change prevents any possibility of codes being duplicated if two users are entering products separately. The ‘Info’ icon to the right reminds the user how this works – just hover the mouse over it.
When ‘Add’ is clicked to create the new PLU, ‘Name’, ‘POS Name’, ‘Scancode’, ‘Sale Price’, ‘Buying Cost’ and ‘Supplier Ref No’ are all cleared and the focus moves to the ‘Name’ field ready for the user to enter the next new PLU name. All other fields retain the current data.
