Scancodes can be used in the standard Core module by entering a barcode against a PLU. This can be used in situations such as a cafeteria where there are mainly food items but there may be a limited number of products, such as cans of drink or confectionery.  When customer  subscribes to the 'Enhanced Scanning' module, some additional functionality such as label management and price control is available.

 

In advanced scanning, when creating a product using the product creation wizard, additional options such as shelf edge label type and Ad-Hoc Labels for individual labeling of products are offered.  The Enhanced Scanning module is designed for a retail environment enabling better price control and label management using large product files.
