Copy a PLU

There may be occasions when you need another version of an existing PLU to use in a new Set Menu. Due to the way PLUs and Set Menus are linked together, you may not be able to re-use a PLU or Set Menu in another 'Course Set Menu'.

For example, consider a Set Menu of cooking instructions. It may contain PLUs for 'Rare', 'Medium' and so on. But these specific PLUs may then be linked to further options in the Set Menu chain to which they belong (e.g. the 'Rare' PLU may have the 'Garnish' Set Menu attached). In situations like these, the answer is to create a copy of the PLU without its Set Menu links.  You can then use this new PLU in a new or different Set Menu. In the designer, you have a way to quickly make a copy of a PLU for this purpose.

You can do this in two places in the designer: In the 'PLU Selector' on the right side of the designer and in the tree view on the left side of the designer. These 'Copy PLU' options work is subtly different ways so be sure to learn the difference between the options.
