This section deals with the use of Set Menus. These primarily are a means of allowing customers to select from a pre-set sequence of choices for a set price. The Set Menu system is designed to allow you to easily set these offers up on the till. The Set Menu system may also be used to set up LIST keys on the POS (a key that offers a list of choices to the operator, for example, a list of wines).

It should be noted that version 4.x and earlier of the Cash Register application does not support the Course Set Menu function (this was introduced from the ERA v2.x version). It is also the case that the way Set Menus are configured is slightly different when the Course Set Menu mode is active.

It is, however, possible to use the Standard Set Menu mode with the ERA 2.x application if the end user does not want to use Course Set Menu functionality (this is controlled in 'General Feature' and must therefore be set on the till rather than in the Cloud.

The 'types' of Set Menu differ slightly depending on whether you are using 'Course Set Menu' or 'Standard Set Menu'. The mode you are using will determine which types are offered when creating or editing Set Menus.

Whether the till uses Standard Set Menu or Course Set Menu mode is controlled by the 'General Feature' setting 'The type of SET MENU'. This setting is not controlled by the Cloud and must therefore be set on the till. When the CRX is imported into the Cloud, the setting must be correct or you will not be able to program the Set Menu features correctly.  It is important, therefore, that the customer is asked to decide if they want to use Course Set Menu features as part of their operation.

On the till, go to 'REG SETTINGS - Operation - The type of SET MENU' and select either 'Course set menu' or 'Standard set menu'.
