Units are just names to describe how ingredients and stock items are Bought, Counted and Sold.  We then define the relationship between different types of units.  The unit’s names and relationships should be generic so they can be used in multiple products

 

Example a unit name of CASE OF 24 would have a relationship of 24 to a unit name of BOTTLE.  This could be used in any product that has a case of 24 and is stocked by the bottle.  When one Case is entered into stock it will update the stock level with 24 Bottles
