Selective items are used in conjunction with the Item parameters and Discount keys. An example of this would be Food items get 10% discount and drinks only get 5% discount. To do this rename the first selective item record 1 to 'Food Items' and the second record to 'Drinks items'.
All Item Parameters that have been linked to food should have the Selective item 1 (which has been renamed 'Food items') ticked and all drinks items should be linked to Selective Item 2 (Which has been renamed 'Drinks Items')

Once the Products have been linked to the correct Item Parameters the system needs a Percentage Total Discount key allocated to a keyboard.
To set the Selective Item select 'Program Function' and then click on the discount key. All options for the total discount key are then displayed. The descriptor of the total discount key can be changed to Food Discount, the rate is set in this example to 10% and the selective items it set to 'Selective Item 1'
When the ECR is being operated a 10% discount for all food items can be given by just pressing the Food discount key. The process can be repeated for 'Drinks' as well.
